Courses for the creative industries

Who do we think we are?

We think it's important that most of our teaching staff are also involved in professional practice in their specialist areas, whether that's running their own business or working in other organisations.

This has also helped us to form links with local employers – giving you opportunities to make contacts, get experience and get involved with work related learning.

Meetjust a few of our people...

Nina Atkinson - Dance

Nina Atkinson

I'm a founder member of the Kent-based Loop Dance Company and I've got extensive experience of professional and community dance to share with you. I'm a specialist in Limon technique, choreography - with a focus on dance film – site-specific performance and teaching in a community context.

Kerry Boyle – Vocal Studies

Kerry Boyle

As a singer I am required to perform in a variety of styles - sometimes in the same programme: a singer must be able to draw on a secure and versatile technique. In focusing on technique I aim to release the potential in each individual voice and nurture technically secure, adaptable singers who connect with the music, communicate effectively and perform with confidence whatever the style and context.

Andy Hurst - Technical Theatre

Andy Hirst

I started out as a sound and lighting engineer at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre whilst also developing my writing and performing career. I've worked for BBC Radio, Capital Radio Group, Virgin Radio, LBC and Channel Four. My interest, which I hope you'll share, is in using technology within live performance and integrating improvisation into performance control systems.
