Life in Folkestone
Students' Union
When you arrive you'll be invited to join the Students' Union and will have the opportunity to get more involved by applying to become a Student Activity Organiser—arranging social activities together with our Student Support Officers. It's not just a social activity either; as an SAC you would be a representative of the student body at UCF. Alternatively, you could contribute to the UCF student forum by volunteering to be a Student Representative.

"I’ve taken on the role of Student Activity Organiser and there have already been massive changes to the life at and surrounding UCF. The reputation of the university is growing, and there’s recognition and an expectation of high standards."

In Folkestone and the surrounding area there are growing numbers of venues offering

For daytime eating and relaxing Fresh and Easy and Cafe Luca are all within easy reach of UCF, providing welcoming alternatives to the bustling Campus Atrium and food kiosk.
Sports activities
UCF has a special relationship with the Folkestone Sports Centre. Fifteen minutes' walk away, this has all the facilities you'd expect from a sizeable town: full-size pool, two gyms, courts, ski- and toboggan-run , and plenty more. Water sports are popular in the local coastal area, too plus we have our own student-led football team.
